Joanne Berube, Executive Director
Joanne Berube came to Marathon to be the Executive Director in the spring of 1999. In addition to a Diploma in Healthcare Administration she has over 22 years experience in group practice management for all primary healthcare providers. As director, Joanne has the overall responsibility of organizing and managing the Marathon Family Health Team in accordance with established policy structure and annual budgets. She works with all our health care providers to assist in the implementation of specific programs and services as outlined in the annual business and operational plans for Family Health Team and Physician providers.
Margaret Cousins, Epidemiologist 
In the fall of 2006, Margaret joined our FHT as a part-time epidemiologist. She is responsible for the evaluation of programs being offered by the Marathon FHT as well as quality of care indicators. She has also completed some needs assessments to help in the development of new programs. On-going evaluation of programs and quality indicators helps us to continually improve the health care that we provide. Before joining our team Margaret worked for several years as a teacher and worked for three years in Hull, Quebec, after completion of her M.Sc. in epidemiology, as an epidemiologist for the Public Health Department of the Outaouais region.
Jackie Rogers, Finance Supervisor
Jackie joined our Team on November 26, 1999. She is responsible for supervising the day-to-day billing for services, reconciliation of government remittances and management of accounts receivable, processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable, calculating and distributing physician income and the creation of yearly revenue reports. Since 1992, Jackie has been an active volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society in her spare time.
Jennifer Huston, Billing Clerk
Jennifer joined our Team on May 1st, 2007. She is responsible for billing, WSIB reconciliations, government remittances, patient enrolment and preventative care. Prior to working for our team Jennifer worked at Home Hardware in accounts receivable and the MTO Driver and Vehicle Issuing Office for 9 years.
Joseph Newing, I.T. Coordinator 
Joseph joined the Marathon Family Health Team on November 14, 2004, after completing Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science at York University in Toronto. As I.T. Coordinator Joseph is responsible for system administration, network security, AIX administration and IT support. He has been very involved in the transition to electronic medical records and plays an important role in the generation of reminder letters as part of the preventive care program.
Marla Fowler, Healthcare Assistant
Marla has been working with our team since August 2001. She escorts patients to rooms and prepares for doctor visits. She is responsible for maintaining and stocking exam rooms, and maintaining/ following infection control protocols and policies. She also keeps an inventory of all forms and requisitions for the clinic, orders medical supplies for rooms and lab, participates in the screening process for COPD and calls patients with lab test results where applicable. Marla previously worked for Wilson Memorial Hospital as an Admitting Clerk, Health Records Clerk/Dictatypist.
Jessica Paris, Healthcare Assistant
Jessica joined our team on July 2, 2009, after completing her diploma for a Social Service Worker – Gerontology. She assists doctors with patient visits, phones patients with results when requested and stocks rooms weekly. Jessica has previously worked for the Children’s Aid Society.
Elana Armitage, Administrative Assistant 
Elana started working for the Marathon Family Practice in March 2000. In our current state of transition from paper medical records to electronic medical records (EMR), Elana is involved in the scanning of paper documents and tagging them to ensure that they go into the correct section of the EMR. As a transcriptionist/referral clerk, it’s her job to transcribe any referrals or letters to be sent to other specialists, insurance companies, etc. She then ensures that all these documents are scanned into patient’s EMR.
Wilma Bazinet, Side Reception/Administrative Assistant 
Wilma joined us in November 2006. As front/side receptionist Wilma is responsible for checking patients in as they arrive, verifying patient information, providing patients with information and scheduling appointments as needed. Wilma worked as a dental assistant prior to joining our team.
Colleen Edwards, Front Desk/Administrative Assistant
Colleen is the smiling face that first greets you and checks you in upon arrival at Marathon FHT. She also books follow up appointments, arranges for the completion of insurance forms and various other administrative tasks. Before joining our team in March 2009, Colleen had worked for 20 years at Marathon Pulp and has also worked for the Provincial Government and Revenue Canada.
Jocelyn Goodchild, Booking Clerk/Administrative Assistant 
Jocelyn joined Marathon Family Practice in 2001. She is responsible for answering all incoming phone lines, triage, appointment booking and taking and relaying phone messages. Jocelyn also maintains the appointment scheduler, and handles outgoing phone calls and messages.
