The Marathon Family Health Team would like patients to ask for a refill of their
medication at least two weeks prior before they completely run out of their
medication.

Two weeks is the ideal amount of time we need to ensure that your
own family physician will be able to review your medication requirements.

If you allow your medication to completely run out and a prescription needs to be
filled urgently, i.e. with less than two business days’ notice, you will be charged a
processing fee of $10.  The reason for the fee, is because the request will have to be sent to a physician other than your own family physician.  Any other physician will be unfamiliar with why you are on the medication, and will have to review your chart fully prior to issuing the prescription.

The fee of $10 is payable at the time you pick up the prescription form.

Please be reminded, that the fee of $10 does not apply, if you are proactive in ensuring that your medication does not completely run out.
