Are you looking for a unique leadership opportunity? Consider applying to become a member of the Marathon Family Health Team (MFHT) Board of Directors.
The MFHT Board of Directors is a mixed skills-based board that includes community members/ patients of the Family Health Team, as well as representatives of the affiliated physician group. At this time, the Board is seeking applicants with skills in Human Resource Management, Finance, Governance and Indigenous Relations. Preference of consideration will be given to those who demonstrate expertise and knowledge in these areas.
Board Director expectations:
- Attend and participate in bi-monthly board meetings that are typically scheduled on the second Wednesday of the month from 9:15am to 11:30am
- Review Board packages prior to each meeting (1-2 hours)
- Respond to emails or phone calls in a timely manner between meetings
Functions of Board Directors:
- Planning: Setting the mission, vision, values and overall strategic direction of the organization.
- Policy Development: Making and introducing policies to guide the actions of the organization.
- Oversight and Monitoring: Reviewing legal compliance, financial stability, quality and performance, and potential risk.
- Performance Management: Evaluating the strength of the organization by managing the performance of the board and Executive Director.
