What you like about practice: What I love about practice is that I get to listen to stories from what, after almost 30 years, feels like an extended family.
What you do outside of general primary care practice: I like to be involved and do a little bit of a lot of things:
- research as a tool for advocacy
- teaching medical learners to stay fresh on the knowledge
- health system transformation work for a better tomorrow
- coaching high school sports to stay connected with youth
- and hang out with Sarah and my kids ‘cause I love them.
Anything else: To practice rural medicine and thrive you need to be part of a team of physicians and those team relationships matter. Thats why we use consensus and make time to work on working together.
