The Marathon Physician Associates Group is a group of rural generalist physicians who provide care in our clinic setting, hospital and community settings.

For Locums

Are you passionate about rural remote medicine and seeking a break from city life? Enjoy a 10-minute commute on foot and explore year-round outdoor activities like mountain biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and more on the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior.

For Learners

Meet The Team

We are a progressive clinic with 7 physicians, 7 administrative staff, and a dedicated interprofessional team serving 3,100 local residents and nearby First Nations communities. Our collaborative environment features 18 exam rooms and a shared space for community programs.

Our Benefits

We are an RNPGA community with 7 signatories.

As a signatory to the contract, and new associate, you would be eligible for $124,094 in recruitment and retention bonus payable over 4 years.

You are also eligible for:

  • Compensation estimate: Income (after overhead)  $250,000-400,000 depending on number of ER shifts
  • Housing for $100/month + utilities for 2 years
  • The support of our community “concierge” to help with community integration
  • Support with moving costs
  • Local mentorship and committed backup for your ER shifts
  • Opportunity to participate in teaching and have some funding for “scholarly activity”

    • CMPA Insurance
    • Preparedness to work in the ER (although clinic only locums will be considered as well)
