Urgent care appointments are available each day in physician, nurse practitioner and physician assistant schedules so that ideally patients can see their own provider on most days that they call to request an appointment of an urgent nature.
Urgent care appointments are used for concerns that must be addressed immediately but do not warrant an ER visit. For example:
- chest pain
- new cough with fever
- child with fever
- acute back pain
- ear pain in child
- sore throat
- acute headache
- bladder infection
- vomiting and diarrhea
- ‘flu like’ illness
- anything that a patient feels cannot wait
