The Marathon Family Health Team (MFHT) will be offering two more COVID-19 Immunization Clinics in the month of June. The upcoming clinics will be taking place on June 17th and June 24th, 2021, and about 350 doses of the vaccine are expected for each clinic.
Eligibility criteria for first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
All individuals 12 years of age and older are now eligible for a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Second doses of the vaccine will be offered to individuals who received a first dose between March 2nd and March 25th as they are approaching their 16-week interval. And, in alignment with Ontario’s plan for accelerated second doses, adults who are 70 years of age and older will also be offered second doses over the coming weeks. Once adults who meet the age priority have been fully vaccinated, our communities will be shifting to the “first in, first out” strategy, where second doses will be offered based on the date of the first dose.
Please see the COVID-19 vaccination clinic schedule for more information.
COVID-19 immunization appointment booking process
As of June 1st, the MFHT has called every rostered patient who is 18 years of age and older. There are currently about 2900 rostered patients at our clinic who are over the age of 18 years, so we are estimating that booking staff have made at least 6000 phone calls since early March.
The booking policy at the clinic is to call patients up to 3 times if we are unsuccessful at reaching them on the first call attempt. When it’s an option, voicemails are left to encourage patients to return our call. If phone numbers are not in service or voicemails can’t be left, letters are sent to patients to let them know that we are trying to reach them.
The MFHT has been working very hard to reach all of our patients in order to offer them COVID-19 immunization appointments. But, despite our best efforts, it’s possible that we have not yet been able to reach you. Please know that you can contact us at any time to request a COVID-19 immunization appointment. We are happy to help you and to offer you an appointment at one of our upcoming clinics.
Requesting a COVID-19 vaccination appointment
If you have not yet accessed an appointment and wish to receive a vaccine, please contact the clinic by calling 807-229-3243 or request an appointment online by clicking here.
If you are eligible for vaccination based on your age (18+ years) or health status, we will contact you to offer you an appointment. We will also contact those who are eligible for a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
We ask that youth between the ages of 12 to 17 years of age contact us using the options listed above if they would like to receive a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
