Join MFHT’s Log Your Loops Challenge!

Get ready to step up your physical activity and join Marathon Family Health Team’s “Log Your Loops” Community Challenge, running from May 22nd to June 18th, 2024!

The goal of this challenge is to boost your physical activity levels by increasing your daily kilometers through walking, running, or biking “loops” of your choice. We’ve mapped out a total of 8 loops, including 4 in Marathon, 2 in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, and 2 in Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg. And if your favorite walking loop isn’t on the map, don’t worry – you can create your own!

How many loops should you aim to log each week? We encourage participants to engage in outdoor physical activity on most days, aiming for a minimum of 150 minutes per week. So, walk, bike, or run as many loops as needed to hit that target or get as close to it as possible. Every loop you log earns you points, regardless of distance or time taken. These points will contribute to your team’s overall score. For maximum benefit, choose loops that align with your current fitness level.

This team challenge of up to 6 team members is open to residents aged 12 and above from Marathon, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, and Netmizaggaamig Nishnaabeg. No team? No problem – register as an individual, and we’ll place you on a team! Each team needs a captain to organize and submit weekly points to the Marathon Family Health Team by each Friday.

The challenge leaderboard will be updated weekly to help participants stay motivated by tracking their team’s progress against other participants. Plus, there are exciting prizes up for grabs! The winning team will receive a special prize for each member, with additional draws throughout the challenge.

How to register? You can sign up online by clicking here or by grabbing a form from the clinic. But don’t wait too long; the deadline to register is Friday, May 17th, 2024.
