What you like about practice: I decided to join the team after coming as a medical student and resident. I was drawn to the team’s supportive collegial environment, opportunity for mentorship, and the encouragement to pursue interests within and outside of primary care.

What you like about practice: I am drawn to continuity of care, and how the opportunity to follow patients across care settings and time fosters therapeutic and meaningful relationships.

What you do outside of general primary care practice: I have a program of research that focuses on the recruitment and retention of human healthcare resources in addition to the accessibility of healthcare services in Northern Ontario. The overarching goal of my research is to improve healthcare service delivery and to inform healthcare policy. I am an Associate Professor in the Clinical Sciences Division at NOSM U and I supervise both medical students and residents for clinical and research placements. I serve as a member of several NOSM U committees including the Committee to Support Student Professionalism and the Admissions Committee. I also work as a Coroner for our community and the surrounding region.
