September 20, 2023 – As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our primary care services and adapt to the evolving healthcare landscape, Marathon Family Health Team (MFHT) is announcing a temporary change to our clinic operating hours.
In an effort to optimize care, better accommodate the needs of our valued patients and contribute to a stronger, more sustainable healthcare workforce, MFHT will be launching a six-month compressed workweek pilot project. This initiative will result in temporary adjustments to our Friday afternoon schedule.
From October 2nd, 2023 to March 29th, 2024, our clinic will be closed to the public on Friday afternoons. However, we will maintain our regular morning hours, operating from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
While in-person visits will not be available on Friday afternoons, we are pleased to inform you that certain providers, including physicians, may offer virtual (phone or video) appointments during this period. This demonstrates our commitment to ensuring consistent access to primary care services, with the added convenience of seeking care from the comfort of your own space.
This pilot project is part of a broader initiative aimed at optimizing clinic operations. It will offer more flexible appointment options for our patients, including extended availability between 4:00pm and 5:00pm and increased virtual appointment options. It will also grant our dedicated staff greater flexibility in their work structures.
